Woodley United Football Club
2025 will be the tenth anniversary of Woodley United FC, and our motto is ‘Gaudium Joci Causa’ meaning ‘Enjoyment Through Sport’.
The aim of Woodley United Football Club is to offer everyone in our community the opportunity to play, develop and grow through football, regardless of race, gender age or ability.
We have 51 teams for the 2024-25 season ranging from Veterans to under 7s, male and female, with a total of 850 players.
Our Mens 1st team play in Step 6 of the FA National League System, and our Womens 1st team play in Tier 5 of the FA Women’s Pyramid.
Last season (2023-24) saw our Mens 1st team reach the second round of the FA Vase for the first time, and our Womens team reach the first round of the FA cup for the first time.
Woodley Utd was voted as the Get Berkshire Active Community Club of the Year in 2019, the Berks & Bucks Club of the Year in 2022, and was Highly Commended for Club of the Year in 2024.
A wide range of opportunities exist to become involved at Woodley United including:
- Playing
- Refereeing youth games
- Coaching
- Media – reporting on games, photography / recording of games (adults) etc
- Volunteering on match days
- Marketing
Our home venue is at the University of Reading’s Bulmershe Ground & Pavilion, and have an excellent partnership with the SportsPark.
Our club supports a range of local charities including Woodley Foodbank, Reading Family Aid and First Days, and we also provide opportunities for those undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh awards.
